High Protein Weight Reduction Diet

Lose FAT - not Muscle - with this Protein Sparing Diet.
Eat your way to good Health

Many people have had success with high protein, low carbohydrate diets. Here is some information on dietary products which many of my patients have found to be useful and some tips to help you win your weight battle while using these products.**

NOTES

**Remember, this diet is a short-term weight loss program to help you lose "fat" without losing your "muscles". Be sure to discus any changes in your diet program with your personal physician or health professional before making any changes in your diet regimen. Any long-term diet program should include a balanced food menu including fruits, vegetables, exercise, and appropriate nutritional supplements.

1.Most people will lose about 10 pounds in the first month on this diet plan. You should aim for 1 to 2 pounds per week of weight loss over the long term.

2. You will eat very nutritious, very tasty foods on this weight reduction plan. You will use the best tasting protein bar on the market to assist you with your weight loss.

3.There are a variety of quality protein bars on the market. Many of you have asked me which protein bar I use. The Nutrilite Trim Advantage(tm) protein bar is the one I use. Unfortunately, you can't buy them in health food stores.

4.You will lose weight faster if you keep your raw carbohydrate intake to 25 grams or less per day for the first month or so. We will show you how easy it is to do this.

5.Take 2 Tums(tm) daily for Calcium. Drink plenty of clean water daily to get rid of ketones (body waste).

6.On any diet program, you must take a high quality Multivitamin/multi-mineral Nutritional Supplement every day. There are several high quality supplements available on the market. Nutrilite Double-X(tm) is the supplement that I use for my family. Double-X(tm) is a plant-based multivitamin-multimineral supplement that contains no preservatives, no additives, no dyes, and no sugars. Be sure to take your daily multivitamin supplement with meals.

7. Remember, you cannot lose real fat much faster than 2 pounds per week consistently, no matter what your friends and the tabloids tell you!

GO FOR IT! YOU CAN DO IT AND WE ARE PROUD OF YOU!

MEAL

Breakfast:
You may have any breakfast protein: eggs, fish, left over chicken, etc., or you may have One Nutrilite(tm) Protein Bar (The most delicious tasting protein bar on the market).
You may have any non-carbohydrate beverage (decaf tea, coffee or herbal tea).
OK to use real cream in your tea or coffee (do not use powdered creamers).
OK to use artificial sweetener of your choice in your tea or coffee.
Drink at least 2 glasses of fluid during the morning. Your decaf tea or coffee counts.
Mid-morning snack (about 10.30 p.m.):

Have half of a Protein bar - any flavor - and a glass of water or other non-calorie, non-carbonated fluid.

Lunch:
A "Chef's Salad". Put any vegetables you want in your salad and make it look good.
You may use one serving of any salad dressing you want. Read the label on the dressings. Most good dressings have 5 or less carbohydrate calories per serving.
You may use salmon, tuna, sliced chicken breast, or strips of lean steak in your salad as your protein source.
Drink at least 2 glasses of water or any non-calorie fluid (e.g., decaf ice tea with "Nutrisweet", etc) with your lunch.
Mid-afternoon Snack:
If you can't finish all of your lunch salad, eat the rest of it later in the afternoon. If you become hungry during the afternoon, have a Protein Bar.
Have at least one glass of water or other non-calorie drink during the afternoon.
Dinner:
Most people do not feel hungry in the evenings after taking a salad and a Nutrilite Bar in the afternoon. If you are not hungry, don't force yourself to eat at night!
If you are still hungry in the evening and you want dinner, you may have a normal portion of grilled or baked fish, chicken or steak. Season it well and make it tasty. You can also have a leafy green salad with an oil/vinegar type dressing if you so desire.
Have at least 2 glasses of water, decaf tea, herbal tea, or other non-calorie drink with your meal sometime during the evening.
Evening Snack:

In general, you should avoid eating late at night, since most of the late evening calories get converted to body fat. However, if you feel really hungry during the evening, you can have a half of a Protein Bar with a glass of water. Tips on How to make Your High Protein Diets work for You.

If you don't give your body carbohydrates (starchy foods), your body has to burn the next easiest thing - your fat - in order to get the energy you need to function every day. High Protein diets work by withholding carbohydrates from your body, thus forcing your body to burn your own fat. Here are some suggestions to help you get the most from this diet.
Patients tell me that The Nutrilite(tm) Protein Bars are the best tasting high quality protein bars on the market.
Most patients do not feel hungry in the evenings after taking a chef's salad for lunch and a Trim Advantage(tm) Bar in the afternoon. If you are not hungry, don't force yourself to eat.

You must take a source of Calcium daily to prevent leg cramps when you are on any high protein diet. (2 Tums/day is an inexpensive way to get your calcium).
You must have at least 6 glasses of water or other non-calorie fluids daily on any high protein diet. This water helps your body to get rid of ketones, the waste products that accumulate in your body when your body is burning it's own fat.
Some people (especially those who are very overweight) may need a small dose of an appetite suppressant to help them get started. You should seek the advice of your personal physician if you feel that you need help in this area.
Your doctor will advise you how long to stay on this diet. Your doctor will work with you to develop a nutritional program that will help you to reach and maintain your ideal body weight.
